Now you can raise the front of your Nova with our Straight Axle Gasser bolt-in subframe and look like you’re back in the Sixties ready to blaze off the line next to Stone, Woods and Cook! No cutting or grinding is necessary with our direct bolt-in subframe that uses all the same stock holes that held the original IFS (independent front suspension) subframe. Our beefy 2¼ X 3 box-tube jig-built subframe includes 1¾ X .120 inch wall upper firewall support tubes from the subframe rails. This adds a lot of strength to the subframe structure and supports the 8-bolts that hold the lower rails to the “chassis”. The firewall support tubes bolt directly to the firewall using existing factory holes.
The rear-steer leaf-spring suspension includes everything you'll need to install it into a stock Nova chassis in a weekend. The straight axle assembly is complete with tube axle (any width), leaf springs (rated at 2500 lbs. for the pair) with front shackles and rear frame brackets, shocks with frame mount brackets, new early Ford spindles with bolt-on Super Bell 2-inch dropped steering arms, new cross-steer Vega steering box with 2-inch dropped Pitman arm and cross-steer drag link and tie-rod. It features Wilwood 4-piston aluminum calipers with 10¾-inch rotors with a 5-on-4¾ or 5-on-4½ wheel bolt-pattern to fit inside nostalgic 15-inch wheels.
The Vega steering box has a splined input-shaft, just like rack-and-pinion steering, and will connect to the bottom of your existing steering column with the parts supplied in the kit. We are also dealers for ididit and Flaming River and have Nova columns if you would like to replace your old column with a new tilt model. We also have dual-chamber master cylinder brake kits with proportioning valves that plumb into your existing brake system. |
