JIM MEYER SET THE DUAL-ENGINE TURBO SIDE-CAR MOTOR CYCLE RECORD AT
BONNEVILLE IN SEPTEMBER 2009 AT THE BUB MOTORCYCLE SPEED TRIALS, AMA RECORDS
If
you thought Jim Meyer Racing built only street rod, muscle car and
custom chassis and subframes, IFS and rear end suspension components,
then take a good look at this custom bike chassis and side car he built
for his winning 153mph record holder!
The Jim Meyer custom tubular chassis holds two 636 KAWASAKI electronic FUEL INJECTED engines with single turbo feeding both 4-cylinder engines. The
streamlined side car, with wheel moved forward slightly for stability,
holds the battery and electronics.

Last year Jim took the side car cycle record without the turbo, but
couldn't stay for the tech inspection tear-down, so the record was not
recorded. This year the 153 mph record is in the books turbo charged.
The big turbo is a T4 that feeds both 636cc engines

After building custom IFS, chassis' and subframes for cars for 30 years,
Jim really excels on the simpler bike frames no matter what kind of
motor or motors they need installed. The dual engine bike runs in the
1350cc Class and also in the Blown Fuel Class.

|
A couple of stock gauges do the job, if he has time too look at them.

|
At the rear of the 1272cc power plant is a 40 tooth sprocket.

Jim's employee, Mike Kitt ran the single KAWASAKI (636cc) engine turbo bike and
got the record at 117mph.
