'67-69 CAMARO CHASSIS
this is not a Direct Replacement chassis

If you want to build a killer 1st Gen Camaro that doesn’t look like all the rest, this new chassis will put you in front of the class! Now you can have the ultimate race-car look with our new Pro-Street chassis. Designed for street or racing, this jig-built 2X4 box-tube chassis includes rack-and-pinion steering, tubular A-arm IFS, coilover suspension, core support mount, engine-and-trans mounts and front-bumper bracket holes all in their stock locations. It can be ordered anyway you like it. We want to build it your way!

The front stance can be lowered another 2-inches by adding (optional) dropped spindles and the popular 4-inch adjustable stance feature built into our IFS and rear multi-hole bracket will drop your ride even further.
This is not a bolt-on chassis for the R-and-R Team. Some floor pan and rear wheel-well modifications are required to fit this chassis to the body. For superior strength and no flex, the body sits down over the chassis and welds to the rails. It is correctly positioned to the chassis by connecting to the two forward body mounts.

Front bumper bracket holes and core support holes in the front frame horns have been included.

Up front, the adjustable stance IFS features a 2 X 4 X .188-inch wall box tube crossmember that holds 1-inch diameter X.156-inch wall D.O.M. tubular upper A-arms and 1 ¼-inch diameter X .156-inch wall D.O.M. tubular lower A-arms. The ’67-72 Chevelle disc brake spindles hold our standard GM 11-inch disc brakes (optional vented rotors shown) or your options are Bear or Wilwood super stoppers with drilled and slotted 12, 13, or 14-inch rotors! Manual rack-and-pinion steering or optional power rack (shown) will make your ride handle like a slot car. Notice, the aluminum coilover shocks have a two position lower A-arm mounting point (just below the optional antisway bar mounting tab). The upper coilover mount bracket is adjustable with about 3-4-inches of stance adjustment for the ride height you like. Upper-and-lower GM balljoints are used on all of our chassis. The lower’s come pressed-in the A-arms.

Looking at the inside of the right front upper tower construction shows that all of the crossmember components are pulse-tig welded together. The .188-inch wall box-tube construction holds the upper-and-lower tubular A-arm cross-shaft, while the tubular motor mounts connect between the chassis and crossmember for more strength at the front of the chassis. Notice how the inside upper-tower is triangulated to the chassis rail.

The rear of the Camaro chassis can be ordered any width, however rear trunk floor pan modifications will be necessary. We build it your way and just about any modifications or options are available like this special order chassis that features an over-the-driveshaft-tunnel crossmember. Since Jim Meyer custom builds the 9-inch rear end for your Camaro or Firebird any width, this is where you can determine the wheel bolt pattern, flanges, rear brakes and optional Dutchman alloy (28, 31 or 35-spline) axles. Notice how the 2 X 4 box tube crossmember connects directly in front of the rear 4-link.

At the rear of the chassis, to keep the Pro Street profile low to the ground, we placed the adjustable, urethane bushed Panhard rod behind the rearend housing.

The new longer and lower Panhard rod is now parallel with the axle housing which lowers the actual roll-center of the chassis. We call this our Low Roll-Center Panhard bar. You’ll also notice the thru-frame tubular crossmember over the rearend adds additional strength by welding on both the inside-and-outside of the rails to keep the tube in the frame. This allowed us to hide the ¾-inch diameter rear antisway bar inside the tubular crossmember. Notice the adjustable antisway bar arms connect to the rearend housing with adjustable links.

Looking at the forward connecting point for the rear 4-link, you can see the beefy connection in the corner between the chassis rails and the crossmember. The adjustable and urethane bushed 4-link control arms come fully adjusted with 4-threads showing so you can install them without problems adjusting them to their proper length. We do that for you. All Grade-8 fasteners and Nylock nut are included.
