GASSER LADDER-BAR STYLE REAR SUBFRAME FOR CORVETTES

| Now you can have the new Gasser Swivel-Style Ladder-Bar Rear Subframe without all the old binding problems of early ladder bar Drag Racing installations of the Sixties. All of our new adjustable-stance Gasser Ladder-Bar Style Rear Subframes are custom built to fit your chassis and your specs and your wheelbase. We use the industry standard 2X4X.120-inch wall steel box-tube rails. The rise over the rear suspension can be either mandrel bent (as shown) or fabricated. With the factory rise over the rear (shown), there is minimal-to-no floor pan modifications depending on your design. Typically, for Muscle Cars or pickups or other performance cars, a 32-inch wide (outside rail-to-rail) measurement will allow for an 18-inch wide tire. For this width, tubs will be part of the modifications with most of the floor pan over the rear end remaining intact. Basically, this Gasser Ladder-Bar style rear subframe is available with just about any industry option you would like. Our jig-built rear gasser subframes are available any width, with any width 9-inch rear end using either coilover shocks or ShockWave air springs (shown). Notice how the 4-link ladder-bars are triangulated between the housing and the forward thru-frame crossmember where a swivel has been added to eliminate body-roll binding coming off the line. The upper two bars of the 4-link ladder are actually connected to the lower two bars by right-and-left-hand threaded adjusters to give you the pinion angle that is best for your conditions. A ¾-inch diameter antisway bar (with adjustable links) is hidden inside the urethane-bushed thru-frame crossmember over the rear end

The swivel is the key that makes this Twenty First Century ladder-bar work under your ride without binding during body and suspension movement. The upper bar (of the 4-link ladder), with the clevis, offers about 1-inch of pinion-angle adjustment, while the lower bars connected to the swivel, offer about another inch of adjustment to keep the rear end square under the chassis. The urethane-bushed (at the rear) 4-link ladder-bars feature 1 ¼-inch od X .120-inch wall D.O.M. lower tubes and 1 ¼-inch diameter X .156-inch wall D.O.M. (drawn over mandrel) upper tubes. The beefy front swivel link features a 1 ¼-inch od 4130 main pin and 4130 rod ends at the front.

In this view, you can see the antisway bar arm next to the side of the frame rail. The antisway bar hides inside the upper thru-frame crossmember that features urethane bushings inside the holes of the rails and adjustable end links that connect to the axle housing. Any rise over the rear suspension is also available. This 2X4 box-tube section of the rails can either be fabricated or mandrel-bent as shown. Notice the upper-and-lower multi-hole brackets holding the ShockWave airspring. With a stock arch over the rear suspension with a tubbed only subframe, keeps the center section of your floor virtually stock except for tubbing the outer fender wells to fit your wider tires. |

The Jim Meyer Racing Products adjustable low-roll-center Panhard bar, that mounts behind the rear axle housing, is also parallel with the centerline of the housing and uses the same multi-hole bracket at the housing that holds the shockwave air spring or coilover shocks. This allows you to tune the track bar, up-or-down at the housing, for the handling you like best. The front swivel, at the forward thru-frame crossmember, allows the entire housing, suspension and Panhard bar to stay level with the pavement while the body and chassis rolls around corners and during launching off the line. Handling and cornering will be vastly improved with our thru-frame antisway bar and Low Roll-Center Panhard bar and a set of ShockWave Air springs.

Looking at the left rear side, the Jim Meyer Drag Racing Style multi-hole rear housing bracket allows you the adjustable ride height for the stance you like, but also offers additional upper holes for “tuning” the low roll-center Panhard bar (up-and-down) on the same bracket. Notice, the upper-and-lower ShockWave (or coilover) dual mounting holes for suspension tuning. Two styles of rear mounting brackets (shown below) are optionally available when ordering your subframe.

3" to 4" REAR STANCE ADJUSTMENT

We give you at least 3-inches of stance adjustability at the rear with our multi-hole mounting brackets for either coilover shocks or ShockWave air springs. Both styles of brackets shown: our 3-hole Standard Street Rod Bracket or our adjustable multi-hole Drag Racing Style Bracket will accept coliovers or ShockWaves. The Drag Racing Bracket offers more adjustment, about 4-5-inches. Both upper brackets have a fixed one-position non-adjustable mounting point.
