Narrowed rearends are the only way to go, especially if you want your Corvette to have the right stance! One of our most popular services is narrowing any 9-inch straight-axle rearend. We can narrow your 9-inch rearend housing or you can have a new Round-Back Currie housing, Alaton's FAB9 housing, or a Quickchange style with gears.
Our straight-axle housing package includes a new jig-narrowed Round-Back Currie housing, any width, new custom length Dutchman alloy axles (any spline), any wheel bolt-pattern, new billet housing ends with big bearings, and custom laser-cut 4-link, Panhard, coilover or ShockWave brackets TIG welded to the housing. We jig-straighten all housings after all brackets are welded into position. |

1953-62 CORVETTE 9-INCH REAREND KIT
Our 9-inch rearend kit (shown) welds into the same original rear axle centerline for a stock appearance under the fender. The kit features aluminum coilover shocks with a three position lower mount bracket on the housing, 4-link adjustable urethane-bushed control arms (1" X .156" wall seamless tube), and an adjustable urethane-bushed Panhard bar that bolts to the housing and needs the frame bracket welded into position. The forward mounting point for the 4-link bracket locates into the stock frame-mounted forward spring hangars. This is where more welding is required along with a couple of upper coilover mount supports that get welded into the upper crossmember. The stock driveshaft is also retained, since only a new U-joint is required with two different cup sizes. It is optionally available any width with alloy axles, rear discs, adjustable coilover shocks, 1-inch antisway bar and rear gears. |
