Our jig-built 2X4 box-tube chassis for ’55-59 GM pickups offers you all the street-performance options you’ll ever want. We build it your way with the options you like best. It features any engine and transmission mounts or the original mounts in their stock locations. We place the stock cab mounts, core support mounts, front bed mounts all in their stock locations and move the fuel tank out of the cab to the rear of the frame. The 2X4X.188-inch wall front crossmember features our popular IFS with D.O.M. (drawn over mandrel) tube A-arms (1 ¼-inch X .156-inch wall lower A-arms and 1-inch X .156-inch upper A-arms) that hold ’69-72 Chevelle balljoints, spindles and 11-inch GM disc brakes (with 5-on-3/4 bolt pattern), aluminum adjustable coilover shocks, and a ’79-93 Mustang manual rack-and-pinion steering unit with 4-turns lock-to-lock.

The rear includes a 9-inch housing any width with Dutchman alloy axles, urethane-bushed adjustable1-inch diameter Panhard bar, adjustable urethane-bushed 1-inch diameter 4-link control arms with our popular “J-tube” supports to the forward 4-link crossmember. This allows you to put all the power through the chassis and to the ground. Our dual-chamber master cylinder/ booster package can go either on the firewall or on the frame for use with your stock pedal assembly. The transmission crossmember features our multi-hole frame brackets that allow you to use any GM transmission (mounting pattern) and most aftermarket transmissions.
Like all of the Jim Meyer Racing Products IFS kits, subframes and chassis, your new ’55-59 GM pickup chassis features an adjustable stance front-and-rear. We are the only manufacturer to offer an adjustable stance chassis in the industry. This means you have a multi-hole position coilover mount at the front-and-rear (about 3-4-inches) for the stance you like best….rod or resto.
Your options include power rack-and-pinion steering, 1-inch diameter antisway bars (front-and–rear), Baer 12 or 13-inch or Wilwood 12.19 or 13-inch super stoppers disc brakes with optional drilled and ball-milled vents, Air Ride Technologies ShockWave air suspension system including remote operation and Explorer rear disc kit (most kits include parking brake). Optional rear ends include Alston’s FAB9, Winters quick-change, Championship style quick-change or the new 9-inch round-back housing. All rear ends are available with gears, Dutchman high-alloy axles, bearings and seals. Jim will also plumb your chassis with stainless steel brake lines and proportioning valve. Your chassis can also be tubbed any width or pinched in the front. Custom chassis applications are no problem.
