Our manual master cylinder kit fits in the stock location in the rear left corner just under the hood. It mounts in the stock location without any firewall modification. The chromed extension tube shown angles the 1-inch diameter bore dual-chamber master cylinder below the hood line for a stock look. The kit includes the push rod, proportioning valve (for a disc/drum system), master cylinder, fittings and hard line to "T" into an original brake line system. Items can be sold separately.
53-62 Corvette Power Master Cylinder Kit
Now you can stop on a dime with a new power brake assembly for First Generation Corvettes from Jim Meyer Racing Products. The new assembly fits in the stock location without firewall or hood modifications.
The new unit is compatible with stock manual drum brakes or any of their IFS kits, their large aftermarket First Gen disc brake kits (disc-disc or disc-drum) or any of the new Jim Meyer ‘53-62 Corvette chassis packages.
Bolted to the stock firewall mounting holes, the kit places the master cylinder and booster forward of the firewall via their standard extension tube and new longer pushrod. A special pivot-arm bracket lowers the master cylinder and 7-inch booster diameter below the hood line for a smooth fit. The ratioed pivot-arm bracket gives you a higher pedal with less travel for a quicker more predictable stop. Jim also offers a compatible brake line kit that allows you to splice into your stock brake lines for minimal plumbing to the new dual-chamber master cylinder. Only a 3/8-inch i.d. vacuum hose is required from the intake manifold. Rochester fuel injected cars will need to remove their air cleaner and use a remote mounted air cleaner.
